Lovers Die in Stabbing After Breakup Dispute at Sihanoukville Market

A tragic incident unfolded in Sihanoukville, Cambodia, on the evening of July 30th, when a dispute over a breakup escalated into a fatal stabbing at the Psar Loeu market. According to initial reports, the incident occurred around 7:30 PM when a man, after his girlfriend requested to end their relationship, refused and a heated argument ensued. The man then allegedly used a sharp knife to stab the woman multiple times, inflicting severe wounds to her arms, face, and head, causing her immediate death at the scene. Following the attack, the man proceeded to stab himself, sustaining critical injuries. He was transported to the hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. The victim, identified as a Cambodian woman, was an employee at a Vietnamese noodle stall within the market. Her hometown is Kratie province. The identity of the male assailant is still under investigation. Authorities have examined the bodies and are currently holding them at the morgue of the Sihanoukville Provincial Hospital, awaiting identification and collection by the victims' families. Police are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the double fatality.
