Over 9 Billion Kyats Worth of Stimulant Drugs Seized in Pyin Oo Lwin

Stimulant drugs worth over 9 billion kyats were seized in Pyin Oo Lwin Township, Mandalay Region, the Myanmar Police Force announced on September 23. The incident occurred when a 10-wheel truck driven by Win Naing Oo (aka Win Naing) was searched based on information near Penhline (East) village, Pyin Oo Lwin Township, on the evening of September 18. During the search, 6.2 million stimulant tablets worth 9.3 billion kyats, which were being secretly transported in the vehicle, were seized, and Win Naing Oo (aka Win Naing) has been prosecuted under the Law Relating to Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances, according to the announcement. Similarly, on the evening of September 20, based on information, a search was conducted near the Mae Sai stream in Makahokham Ward, Tachileik City, Eastern Shan State, where Saw Yan Naing, a resident of Peela Hpun Ward, Tachileik City, along with four others, were arrested with 2.4 million stimulant tablets worth 96 million kyats in local currency, and the arrested individuals have been prosecuted under the Law Relating to Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances, according to the announcement.
