Cambodia's Takeo Province Cracks Down on Roadside Order in Bati District

Efforts are underway in Bati District, Takeo Province, southern Cambodia, to maintain public order and ensure traffic safety along National Road No. 2. On July 24, 2026, District Governor Sai Vanna led a joint team on an inspection along National Road No. 2 in the Chhuk Commune within the district. The inspection included the deputy district governor, relevant departmental officials, Chhuk Commune authorities, and a joint security force. The governor directly instructed roadside vendors and business owners to organize their stalls and goods, ensuring they do not encroach on sidewalks or roadways. This measure aims to facilitate traffic, reduce accidents, and improve the overall landscape and environment of the area. Furthermore, the governor appealed to factory owners, businesses, and residents to continue cooperating with local authorities in maintaining hygiene, the environment, and public order. The goal is to enhance the aesthetic appeal of National Road No. 2 and ensure a safe traffic environment, making travel easier for residents and travelers. The governor emphasized that these order-restoring efforts are not intended to restrict people's businesses but rather to foster discipline in the community, attract more customers and tourists, and thereby contribute to increased household income. Special units have been instructed to conduct regular guidance for factories and businesses, based on the principles of mutual understanding and education, to avoid impacting the movement of residents and daily commercial activities.
