New Governor of Poipet Province Orders Public Service Improvement and Beautification
A ceremony for the new governor of Poipet Province marked the occasion with directives for swift, transparent public service delivery and beautification efforts. Emphasis was placed on improving the aesthetics of key roads and promoting tree planting.
POUSAT PROVINCE, CAMBODIA – A ceremony was held on July 6, 2026, at the Krakor District Hall in Pousat Province to announce the appointment of the new Governor and Deputy Governor of Krakor District. The event was presided over by H.E. Khoy Rida, Governor of Pousat Province, and attended by provincial deputy governors, heads of relevant departments, armed forces representatives, and numerous civil servants. According to Royal Government Sub-decree No. 564 ANK.TT, dated June 30, 2026, Mr. Un Sophalla, a Grade 2 official, was appointed as the Governor of Krakor District, Pousat Province. Additionally, Ministry of Interior Prakas No. 6674 PRK, dated June 8, 2026, ordered the transfer of Mr. Kroch Sokhoun, a Grade 2 official and former Deputy Governor of Pousat City, to the position of Deputy Governor of Krakor District. Following the reading of the appointment and transfer decrees, the newly appointed Governor, Mr. Un Sophalla, pledged to: 1. Strictly implement the Constitution, laws, and the Royal Government's "Pentagon Strategy" under the leadership of HE. Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet and the guidance of the Pousat Provincial Governor. 2. Strengthen his role based on the motto "Act swiftly, serve with dedication, and seek guidance when stuck," adhering to accountability and transparency in leadership. 3. Maintain internal unity and foster good cooperation with all institutions to ensure smooth administrative operations in the district. 4. Commit to eradicating inefficiencies, promoting public service delivery, improving the district's aesthetics, and attracting development through the "Maintain the old, increase the new" mechanism to enhance the living standards of the people. 5. Reinforce the "Safe Village-Commune-District" policy (combating all types of crime and preventing drugs/gambling), while upholding professional ethics and self-development in the 4.0 technology era. During the ceremony, H.E. the Provincial Governor commended and highly valued the efforts of Mr. Liv Seng Him, the former Governor of Krakor District, for his active service to the nation and its people until his retirement. Furthermore, H.E. expressed strong confidence in the new Governor, who was transferred from his role as Deputy Governor of Kandieng District, noting that "This official is a highly capable leader with practical work experience and a strong will to serve the citizens." He also encouraged the newly transferred Deputy Governor to maintain a high spirit of responsibility in his new role. H.E. Khoy Rida urged the new district authorities to strive to provide public services to citizens quickly, transparently, and efficiently, without any delays or unofficial fees. Officials must pay close attention to resolving local residents' requests in a timely manner. Concurrently, H.E. the Provincial Governor strongly urged the district authorities to prioritize public order, discipline, and environmental sanitation, especially along the road leading to Kompong Luong Commune, to enhance the aesthetics and attractiveness for tourists. In addition, authorities at all levels must promote tree planting activities throughout the district, in schools, pagodas, and along roadsides, to contribute to environmental protection and increase green cover in the province.
