Da Nang International Hospital Conference on Evidence-Based Medicine and Multidimensional Perspectives Opens

The International Hospital Science Conference 2026, themed 'Evidence-Based Medicine with Multidimensional Perspectives,' opened on August 1st in Da Nang City, central Vietnam. The conference brought together over 800 healthcare professionals from both domestic and international backgrounds, aiming to share the latest medical technologies and research findings, and to foster international cooperation in the medical field. Several advanced medical cases from Da Nang Hospital were presented during the conference. These included the first implementation of the two-port endoscopic spine surgery (UBE) at Da Nang Hospital, the recovery of two patients who suffered from botulinum poisoning after consuming fermented fish, and the successful resuscitation of a foreign national using ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation). Furthermore, reports were made on the hospital's internal 'red alert' procedure activated to save a female student critically injured in a traffic accident, and the hospital's first liver transplant surgery, performed with the support of the Military Central Hospital 108. These cases highlight the improvement in Vietnam's medical standards and the importance of international medical collaboration. They particularly underscore Da Nang Hospital's efforts as a regional healthcare hub to adopt advanced medical technologies and enhance its emergency response capabilities. As Vietnam experiences economic growth, investment in the healthcare sector is also increasing, with the aim of promoting public health and attracting international medical tourism.
