Can Tho City, a key hub in Vietnam's Mekong Delta, welcomed an estimated over 353,200 tourists during the five-day holiday break from August 29 to September 2. This figure represents a 20% increase compared to the same period last year. Approximately 6,970 of these visitors were international tourists. Overnight stays reached around 127,400, with average hotel occupancy rates hovering at about 80%. Notably, major hotels in central districts such as Ninh Kieu, Cai Khe, and Tan An reported occupancy rates of approximately 85%. Total tourism revenue during the holiday is estimated at around VND 421 billion (approximately USD 17.6 million), a 13% rise year-on-year. This growth is attributed to the proactive efforts of tourist attractions and travel companies. Many sites and operators implemented promotional discounts, special tour packages, and experiential activities to enhance visitor satisfaction and boost spending.
