Iloilo City Schools Mull Transparent Bags for Campus Safety

ILOILO CITY — The Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) and the Department of Education (DepEd) Iloilo City Division are exploring the possibility of requiring students to use transparent school bags. The initiative aims to prevent prohibited items from entering school campuses. During a coordination meeting held on Monday, ICPO City Director Col. Wilbert Parilla presented the transparent-bag proposal to DepEd officials for initial assessment. This measure is being considered as a concrete step to enhance campus safety. At present, the proposal is in its preliminary stages. Its eventual implementation will depend on the assessment by DepEd officials and consultations with students and parents.
