Bulgarian-Arab Economic Chambers to Visit Cambodia Exploring Investment Potential
Chairman of the Bulgarian-Arab Economic Chambers, Ahmad M. Alaeddine, has expressed a clear intention to visit Cambodia to directly explore investment potential and economic cooperation opportunities. This was revealed during a meeting with the Cambodian Ambassador to Bulgaria, aiming to strengthen economic and trade ties between the two nations.
Chairman of the Association of Bulgarian-Arab Economic Chambers, Mr. Ahmad M. Alaeddine, has clearly expressed his intention to visit Cambodia to directly explore investment potential and economic cooperation opportunities. This statement was made during a working meeting with His Excellency Dr. Chea Chanboribo, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Kingdom of Cambodia to the Republic of Bulgaria, held on July 13, 2026, in Sofia, Bulgaria. The meeting focused on strengthening and expanding economic and trade cooperation between the Kingdom of Cambodia and the Republic of Bulgaria. Mr. Ahmad M. Alaeddine mentioned plans to lead a business delegation to study opportunities for importing agricultural products from Cambodia, such as rice, coffee, pepper, cashew nuts, tea, chili, and other processed goods. In response, His Excellency Dr. Chea Chanboribo, as the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Cambodia to the Republic of Bulgaria, welcomed and fully supported the intention of the Chairman of the Association of Bulgarian-Arab Economic Chambers. He informed that he would facilitate and assist in organizing meetings with the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), as well as other relevant institutions and the private sector. The Ambassador further stated that during the visit to Cambodia, arrangements would be made for visits to special economic zones and meetings with Cambodian businessmen to promote cooperation in trade, investment, and business connectivity between the two countries. Furthermore, both sides also discussed the possibility of using Bulgaria as an EU Gateway for Cambodian products, especially for the Cambodian diaspora in Europe and general European consumers.
