Vietnamese Railway Staff Return Valuable Lost Property to Passenger

On the afternoon of July 23, aboard the SE7 train of Vietnam Railways, staff members promptly discovered and returned valuable lost property left behind by a passenger. This incident has been reported as an example of the high sense of responsibility and cultural virtues of railway workers. This case is one in a series of reports highlighting Vietnam Railways' swift and honest handling of lost items left by passengers. Previous reports have documented similar acts of kindness, including the return of nearly 123 million VND (equivalent to approximately 680,000 JPY) in cash on the SE2 train and another instance of goodwill on the SE11 train. Furthermore, the Saigon Railways cabin crew team found a handbag containing 25 million VND (approximately 140,000 JPY) in cash and a passport on the SE4 train and quickly returned it to its owner. These incidents align with the tendency to encourage exemplary behavior among civil servants and public service workers, as part of maintaining social order under Vietnam's one-party system. As Vietnam continues its economic growth, such honest actions, alongside improvements in living standards, contribute to enhancing overall societal trust.
