State Administration Council Chairman Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing said that the government will help flood-affected people in Ayeyarwady Region as much as possible to alleviate their difficulties and help them return to their original living conditions as soon as possible. He said this during a meeting with flood-affected people in Lemyethna Township, Ayeyarwady Region, at a monastery in Laha Pa village on the morning of August 9. He said he was saddened by the damage and losses suffered by the people due to the floods and that he came to visit and encourage the flood-affected people himself. The Senior General said that after the water recedes, if the people strive to carry out rehabilitation work with their own efforts, they will be able to return to their original conditions as soon as possible, and the government will also provide as much assistance as possible to help them return to their original conditions. He also said that when the schools, which were temporarily closed due to the floods, reopen, parents should prioritize sending their children back to school. Afterwards, the Senior General presented relief supplies to the flood-affected people and greeted and encouraged them warmly, it is reported.
