Palay Production Costs Decline 7.7% in 2025, Farmer Net Returns Plummet 49.8%
The average cost to produce palay (unmilled rice) fell 7.7% in 2025 to P55,097 per hectare, while average net returns for farmers plummeted 49.8% to P18,476, according to the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).
