Typhoon Dujuan Continues to Affect Cambodia Until September 25th - Heavy Rain, Thunderstorms, and Gusts Expected

The Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology announced that Typhoon Dujuan, the 25th typhoon, will continue to affect the Kingdom of Cambodia until September 25th, bringing heavy rain, thunderstorms, and gusty winds to most regions. This impact is expected to cover 60% to 70% of the country's land area. According to the ministry's announcement, Typhoon Dujuan is currently influencing the southwest monsoon that blows over the Bay of Bengal, Andaman Sea, South China Sea, Mekong River basin, and the Cambodian Sea. However, the Kingdom of Cambodia is not in the direct path of Typhoon Dujuan. From September 23rd to 25th, lowland areas are expected to experience temperatures ranging from a minimum of 25°C to a maximum of 33°C. Winds will blow from the southwest and northwest at an average speed of 3 meters per second. Provinces such as Banteay Meanchey, Battambang, Poipet, Kampong Chhnang, Siem Reap, Kampong Thom, Kampong Cham, Tboung Khmum, Prey Veng, Svay Rieng, Takeo, Kampot, and the capital Phnom Penh may experience heavy rain, thunderstorms, and gusty winds covering 70% of their areas. Highland areas are forecast to have temperatures ranging from a minimum of 24°C to a maximum of 31°C. Winds will blow from the southwest and west at an average speed of 5 meters per second. Provinces like Kampong Speu, Pailin, Oddar Meanchey, Preah Vihear, Kratie, Stung Treng, Ratanakiri, Mondulkiri, the Dangrek Mountains, and the Cardamom Mountains may experience heavy rain, thunderstorms, and gusty winds covering 70% of their areas. Coastal areas are expected to have temperatures ranging from a minimum of 25°C to a maximum of 34°C. Winds will blow from the southwest and southeast at an average speed of 3 meters per second. Provinces such as Koh Kong, Sihanoukville, Kampot, Kep, and the Bokor Mountain area may experience heavy rain, thunderstorms, and gusty winds covering 60% of their areas. Sea waves are expected to have an average height of 0.50 meters to a maximum of 1.75 meters.
