However, it is understood from public statements that eggs can currently be purchased at 550 kyats per egg. Regarding egg production costs, it is understood from poultry entrepreneurs that the production cost for one viss (26 eggs) of eggs from poultry farms in various regions and states, including the Nay Pyi Taw Council area, is 12,200 kyats, making the cost per egg around 470 kyats. It is said that from poultry farms, 40 kyats for broken eggs and transportation costs, plus a 20 kyat profit for the producer, are added, bringing the price to 530 kyats per egg when delivered to the wholesaler. It is understood that transportation costs to the market and a 20 kyat profit for the wholesaler are further added, and eggs are distributed and sold to the public in the retail market at a rate of 550 kyats per egg.
