Cambodia Boosts Infrastructure and Transport Through Public-Private Partnership

On July 20, 2026, H.E. Peng Ponea, Minister of Public Works and Transport and co-chair of the Transport and Infrastructure Working Group (Group C) of the Government-Private Sector Forum, led a meeting. He co-chaired with Oknha So Nguon, Chairman of the Private Sector Working Group on Transport and Infrastructure. The meeting was attended by numerous senior officials from relevant ministries, representatives from private companies, and national business associations who are members of Group C. The primary objective of this meeting was to examine and discuss the issues and requests put forth by the private sector, and to find solutions. The aim is to facilitate business operations and enhance Cambodia's competitiveness. This public-private collaboration is seen as a crucial step towards improving infrastructure and logistics efficiency, which are essential for Cambodia's continued economic growth. Especially with the recent increase in investment from China, the importance of infrastructure development has grown, and the government aims to accelerate development and improve quality by strengthening cooperation with the private sector.
