Chinese People's Liberation Army Navy escort vessel group arrives in Myanmar for goodwill visit

The escort vessel group of the Chinese People's Liberation Army Navy has arrived in Myanmar for a goodwill visit, according to Xinhua. The 48th escort vessel group of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Navy arrived at Yangon Port on September 24 for a five-day goodwill visit. On September 24, around 2 p.m. local time, the Chinese Navy's frigates Tanshan, Tacheng, and Taihu, flying the flags of China and Myanmar, arrived at Yangon Port. The armaments were adjusted to a ceremonial posture, and the soldiers and officers waved to the arriving crowd in greeting, the report stated. More than 300 people, including representatives of senior Myanmar military and government officials, officers, and soldiers, staff from the Chinese Embassy in Myanmar, Chinese investment organizations, and representatives of overseas Chinese and Chinese nationals, welcomed the Chinese Navy's escort vessel group at the port, waving the flags of China and Myanmar. During the visit, the fleet commanders are scheduled to meet with the top leaders of the Myanmar government and military and engage in activities such as professional exchanges, ship tours, sports and cultural exchanges, and shipboard receptions, Xinhua reported.
