In Da Nang, Vietnam, 25 teenagers have been arrested for engaging in a violent group brawl that originated from a dispute on social media. The incident escalated to include attacks on bystanders with dangerous weapons. On September 5, the Criminal Investigation Department of the Da Nang City Police initiated legal proceedings, indicting 25 suspects for the crime of disturbing public order. The incident occurred in the early hours of August 24, stemming from a conflict between two groups of teenagers. The first group, comprising 15 individuals armed with tridents, modified knives, slingshots, and beer bottles, rode on five motorcycles in search of their rivals. Simultaneously, the opposing group of 8, equipped with katana swords, knives, and pepper spray, traveled on three motorcycles. Upon encountering each other near the Ky Phu bridge, the two sides engaged in a high-speed chase across multiple roads, including Nguyen Tat Thanh, Vo Chi Cong, and National Highway 1A. One individual from a group sustained multiple stab wounds to the back, fell from his motorcycle, and had his vehicle destroyed. After their opponents fled, one group proceeded to block the road and assault six unrelated civilians, using tridents to inflict injuries, damage property, and seize a motorcycle for concealment. This group then pursued another motorcycle carrying three people, injuring two victims before taking their vehicle. Meanwhile, the opposing group gathered more members, increasing their total to 14, and continued their search. At the Truong Giang bridge area, the two sides met for a second time, attacking each other with pepper spray, steel ball slingshots, and rocks, causing an injury to one person's head before dispersing. Investigative authorities have seized evidence including modified knives, metal tridents, swords, pepper spray, and nine motorcycles. They are currently consolidating case files and clarifying the role of each individual to ensure strict legal action. Source: VnExpress
