The Ministry of Information of Cambodia has launched an English language training program titled "English for Information and Media Sector" to accelerate access to international information and enhance the global dissemination of Cambodia's achievements and prestige. The training commenced on July 1, 2026, at the Ministry of Information's Media Professional Training Center in Phnom Penh, targeting civil servants within the ministry. His Excellency Kem Kunvuth, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Information, stated that individuals proficient in reading, translating, writing, and communicating effectively in English will significantly assist officials in obtaining information from international sources more rapidly and verifying news more efficiently. He further emphasized that such proficiency is crucial for broader outreach and credibility when promoting Cambodia's accomplishments to the world. His Excellency highlighted that in the current era of rapid digital technology and media development, English proficiency is no longer an option but a "necessary requirement" for civil servants in the information sector.
