It will comprise a commercial center building and auxiliary facilities, with a total construction floor area of about 26,000 square meters. Aeon Vietnam has completed procedures related to fire prevention and fighting, and environmental impact. The company is currently finalizing land-related procedures and obtaining construction permits. The project is scheduled to break ground in August and is expected to begin operations in the fourth quarter of 2027. During the meeting, Chairman Binh urged the enterprise to concentrate resources and assign clear responsibilities to complete all necessary documents and procedures, ensuring the project's groundbreaking proceeds on schedule. To date, the Japanese retail conglomerate operates 8 shopping malls, 15 general department stores and supermarkets (including streamlined models), 45 medium-sized supermarkets, and hundreds of convenience stores across Vietnam. Aeon views Vietnam as one of the region's most dynamic retail markets, driven by its young demographic structure and increasing consumer demand. However, modern retail channels currently account for only about 12-15% of the total market, indicating significant room for development. Following its merger with Nam Dinh, Ninh Binh province now covers an area of over 3,940 square kilometers with a population exceeding 4.4 million.
