Vietnam, Laos Strengthen Party Organisation Cooperation

General Secretary and President Lam reaffirmed that Vietnam consistently gives top priority to strengthening the great friendship, special solidarity, comprehensive cooperation and strategic cohesion with Laos, describing the relationship as an invaluable asset shared by the two nations and their revolutionary causes. As part of the Vietnam–Laos Trade Fair 2026 (VIETLAO EXPO 2026) in Vientiane, the Vietnam–Laos Business Networking Seminar 2026 was held on July 17. Huan spoke highly of the positive development of the Vietnam-Australia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, affirming that the two countries still have substantial potential for cooperation in high-quality human resources development, science and technology, innovation, national governance and sustainable development. Giang reaffirmed that Vietnam highly evaluates Panama's role and position in Latin America and wants to further strengthen the traditional friendship and cooperation between the two countries. He said Vietnam and Panama, with their strategic geographical locations, could serve as gateways linking the economies of ASEAN and Latin America. The two sides affirmed that they attach the highest priority to their good-neighbourliness, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, and long-term sustainability, and welcomed the steady progress in bilateral ties. PM Hung noted that the Vietnamese Government highly evaluates the IMF’s assessments and recommendations and considers them an important source of reference in policymaking and implementation. The first extraordinary session of the 16th National Assembly (NA) will deliberate 31 items, including the adoption of 15 draft laws, four draft resolutions, five major issues and first readings of seven additional bills, along with other matters within the NA's authority. For the new term, the Vietnam Red Cross Society will comprehensively reform its operations by placing people at the centre, communities as the foundation, digital transformation and innovation as the driver of development, and resource mobilisation as its primary approach to improve the quality and efficiency of humanitarian activities. The two-year statement focuses on six priority areas, namely urban management and regeneration; environmental protection and sustainable development; education and culture; social development; integration and innovation; and the economy, trade and investment.
