Cambodian Ministers Unite to Foster Green Tourism in Kampong Speu and Koh Kong
Cambodian Ministers of Environment, Tourism, and Rural Development met to accelerate eco-tourism development in Kampong Speu and Koh Kong provinces, aiming to boost local economies while protecting natural resources.
Ministers from the Ministry of Environment, Ministry of Tourism, and Ministry of Rural Development convened on Tuesday at the Ministry of Environment to accelerate the development of eco-tourism destinations in Kampong Speu and Koh Kong provinces. The Ministers deliberated on expanding these potentials to contribute to improving the livelihoods of local communities, while ensuring the protection and sustainable conservation of natural resources. The joint initiative aims to link forest landscapes, wildlife, waterfalls, and indigenous minority cultural sites into a unified green corridor across the Cardamom Mountains. By expanding these eco-tourism hubs, the Ministers seek to boost local economies while safeguarding the region's biodiversity. This strategy aligns directly with the Environmental Sector Strategic Framework 2023-2028 and supports the Royal Government’s Pentagonal Strategy-Phase 1.
