Sihanoukville Governor Inspects Five New Concrete Roads in the City
Sihanoukville Provincial Governor Mang Sineth inspected the progress of five concrete roads constructed in the city's Ward 4 and Ward 1. These roads aim to improve citizen convenience, facilitate traffic, and enhance urban aesthetics, with some funded by public donations.
Sihanoukville Provincial Governor, HE Mang Sineth, on the morning of Sunday, July 5, 2026, led officials to inspect the progress of five concrete roads located in Ward 4 and Ward 1 of Sihanoukville City. The inspection covered several key infrastructure projects. Among these were concrete roads built with the support of philanthropists, including a reinforced concrete road connecting National Road 806 to National Road 210 in Village 3, Ward 4, Sihanoukville City. Additionally, HE Mang Sineth inspected the repair work on a 474-meter long road in Village 5, Ward 4. This project involved laying a 6-meter wide, 0.15-meter thick reinforced concrete surface, along with an 880-meter drainage system, 34 manholes, a 9m x 10m box culvert, and a 15-meter water pressure protection slab. This road construction was carried out by the Engineering Corps. Another inspected project was the repair of National Road 816, spanning 450 meters in length and 7.25 meters in width, with a concrete thickness of 0.20 meters. This section also included 900 meters of concrete sidewalks on both sides, located in Village 5, Ward 4. This work was also undertaken by the Engineering Corps. Furthermore, a 1200-meter long concrete road, designated as Road 833, with a width of 12.25 meters and a thickness of 0.2 meters, was inspected in Village 5, Ward 4. This project, funded by philanthropists, also included drainage systems on both sides of the road. Finally, the inspection included two sections of road repair in Village 1, Ward 1, totaling 1207 meters. The first section measured 482 meters long and 8.25 meters wide, while the second section was 725 meters long and 6 meters wide. Both sections featured a 0.15-meter thick concrete surface, accompanied by 1932 meters of circular drainage pipes with a 0.6-meter cross-section and manholes on both sides. This work was also executed by the Engineering Corps. During the inspection, HE Mang Sineth expressed his gratitude to the philanthropists who contributed to the construction of concrete roads in Ward 4, alongside the Sihanoukville Provincial Administration. He emphasized that these roads would significantly improve transportation and traffic flow within the city and province, further enhancing the urban landscape and sanitation. He noted the indispensable role of the private sector's contributions to the provincial administration, citing past instances of public support for road construction within the city and other districts of Sihanoukville province. Alongside the inspection of these road achievements, HE the Governor also engaged with residents living along the five concrete roads in Ward 4 and Ward 1, inquiring about their well-being in a friendly manner. He stressed that the Provincial Administration remains close to the people at all times, committed to resolving local difficulties day and night. He reiterated that as civil servants and members of the armed forces, they are always connected to the citizens, and the well-being of the people is intrinsically linked to the well-being of the authorities at all levels, from village to provincial administration. In conjunction with these efforts, HE the Governor instructed the Engineering Corps to install road humps across the width of the roads. This measure aims to reduce traffic accidents by mitigating high-speed driving within residential areas, a concern raised by residents living along these newly constructed concrete roads.
