Vietnam's Top Leader Strengthens International Cooperation on Canada, US Visits

General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and President To Lam has commenced a state visit to Canada. This visit is seen as an effort to enhance Vietnam's international presence and strengthen multilateral cooperation. During the high-level segment of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly, General Secretary and President To Lam proposed four major directions, demonstrating Vietnam's engagement with pressing global issues. His remarks highlighted Vietnam's stance in seeking constructive contributions to global problem-solving. Furthermore, during his stay in the United States, he expressed profound gratitude for the significant contributions of Vietnamese experts and intellectuals residing there. This reflects an intention to value cooperation with the Vietnamese diaspora abroad and leverage their knowledge and experience for domestic development. Turning to domestic affairs, a report on the inspection and supervision results of the Hai Phong City Party Committee has been approved. This can be interpreted as part of the efforts within Vietnam's one-party system to maintain party discipline and ensure administrative transparency. Additionally, a review of tax exemption policies for food service providers to schools and hospitals has been proposed, suggesting an aim to strengthen fiscal discipline and create a fairer competitive environment. Prime Minister Le Minh Hung has also instructed that quality and technical requirements should not be overlooked in favor of project progress. This indicates that sustainability and quality assurance are being emphasized in Vietnam's infrastructure development and economic growth. These developments reflect Vietnam's strategy to deepen its international relations while maintaining domestic stability and development.
