Severe Tropical Storm Kiyapo has intensified into a typhoon as it exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) early Saturday morning, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa). Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 remains in effect for Batanes, western Babuyan Islands, northern mainland Cagayan, northern Apayao, and Ilocos Norte.
