Vietnam's Esports Team Secures Historic First ASIAD Medal

Vietnam's national esports team, competing in NARAKA: Bladepoint, has secured a bronze medal at the 20th Asian Games (ASIAD) held in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan. This achievement marks a historic milestone, as it is the first time Vietnam's esports has won a medal at an official Asian Games event. In the group stage, Vietnam was placed in Group B alongside China Hong Kong, the Philippines, and Chinese Taipei. The team delivered an impressive performance, winning all three matches with a 2-0 score, thus topping the group and securing a spot in the knockout stage. In the semifinals, NARAKA: Bladepoint Vietnam faced Thailand in a decisive match for a place in the final. The two teams engaged in a closely contested battle, with Vietnam at one point taking the lead, but ultimately losing 2-3. This result led the Vietnamese team to compete for the bronze medal. The achievement in Aichi-Nagoya holds special significance for Vietnamese esports, being the nation's first ASIAD medal in the discipline. NARAKA: Bladepoint also served as the opening event for the Vietnamese esports delegation's medal campaign at this year's Games.
