She was arrested on June 25 and is currently in custody in Australia, facing up to 25 years in prison if convicted. Her first court appearance is scheduled for September 14. Ms Meena has maintained that she was unaware she was carrying drugs. Pol Maj Gen Suriya explained that the gang exploited various individuals, including flight attendants, members of the public offering private courier services on flights, students, and frequent travelers, essentially anyone willing to sell their luggage weight quota. He anticipates that arrest warrants will be issued by next week for the suspects, encompassing those in Laos, the drug suppliers, and individuals involved in financial transactions for the gang.
