Sara Duterte: Ex-President's skin condition improving in ICC detention

Vice President Sara Duterte on Friday said that former President Rodrigo Duterte's skin condition while in detention at the International Criminal Court (ICC) has improved. During her visit, she examined his back and confirmed that the "small red spots" she had previously described as pimple-like had already dried up. She expressed gratitude to the ICC detention unit for their prompt attention to the condition. However, she stated that the skin issue remains a concern due to the former president's diabetes. The family and his defense team have asked his lawyers to seek information from authorities regarding the cause of the skin irritation, as the former president himself could not explain how it developed. "It's a concern because PRRD (Rodrigo Duterte) is diabetic. As much as possible, we don't want any part of his body to sustain wounds," the Vice President said. The family and the defense team believe that knowing what triggered the skin condition will allow them to advise the former president on what to avoid and prevent possible infection. She added that the condition has not affected his daily activities. "He's able to stand. He even wanted someone to scratch his back," she said.
