The Embassy of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar was officially opened in Managua, Nicaragua on July 28, according to a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. At the embassy opening ceremony, the Vice Presidents of the Republic of Nicaragua sent congratulatory flower baskets, and attendees included Dr. Arlin Alonso, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Nicaragua, the Co-Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Presidential Advisor on Investment, Trade and International Cooperation, the Presidential Advisor on Policy and International Cooperation, the Minister of Defence, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Chief of Police, and senior officials from various ministries and the military. At the ceremony, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Myanmar to the Republic of Nicaragua, U Tun Aung Kyaw, delivered remarks, and from the government of the Republic of Nicaragua, the Presidential Advisor on Investment, Trade and International Cooperation and the Co-Minister of Foreign Affairs delivered remarks.
