Nha Bich Agricultural Cooperative in Vietnam is transitioning to high-tech agriculture, achieving a 3-star OCOP certification for its melon cultivation. The cooperative aims for stable income and local economic contribution, planning further variety development and production expansion.

Nha Bich Commercial Service Agricultural Cooperative (HTX) in Nha Bich village, Dong Nai province, is pioneering the transition to high-tech agriculture, contributing to the revitalization of the local economy. The cooperative has established five greenhouses on a 5,000 square meter area for high-tech melon cultivation. In 2022, its products received a 3-star OCOP (One Commune One Product) certification, providing stable income for its members. Founded in 2017, the HTX initially focused on services before expanding into high-tech agriculture based on member demand. Mr. Nguyen Van Dong, Deputy Director of the HTX, stated, "Melons grown in greenhouses are a short-term crop, harvested in about 60-65 days, but they require advanced agricultural knowledge and meticulous techniques. Specifically, investing in greenhouses, selecting high-quality seedlings, and ensuring swift, conscious labor are essential." Every step of the cultivation process is meticulously recorded by members to ensure adherence to guided technical procedures. Currently, the HTX's melon production process is registered under VietGAP standards, utilizing biological agents for pest and disease control, aiming for the development of clean agriculture. Future plans include experimental introduction of seedless black grapes. Nha Bich village hosts seven HTX involved in fruit and vegetable cultivation. Products like Nha Bich melons, Minh Thang pomelos, and Mien Lap durians have received OCOP certification and are well-received in the market. Many HTX are gradually succeeding in innovating operational methods, restructuring crops, expanding production linkages, and enhancing business efficiency. Mr. Nguyen Hong Thai, Chairman of the Nha Bich Village People's Committee, commented, "For areas cultivating perennial fruit trees, we maintain and enhance their value through the establishment of HTX, high-tech agricultural models, and OCOP products. These are large-scale HTX that apply technology to production and management. Moving forward, we will continue to support farmers by connecting them with relevant units for product promotion and market access, providing agricultural extension and industrial promotion policies, facilitating scientific and technological transformation, and supporting the application of information technology in management."
