Ngawan River water enters Laymyatnar, rescue operations underway

In Laymyatnar Township, Ayeyarwady Region, rescue operations are being carried out as the Ngawan River water level has risen, causing water to enter urban wards and villages, according to the Ayeyarwady Region Fire Brigade. On the morning of July 31, it was reported that the Ngawan River water entered wards and villages via Myitkyar-In, and rescue and evacuation operations were being carried out for the residents of Ward 3, Ward 4, Ward 5 in Laymyatnar Township, as well as in Htan Gone Village, Kyun Gone Village, and Kwin Chaung Gone Village. Currently, command teams led by Regional Fire Chief U Aung Swe Win have arrived in Laymyatnar Township and are carrying out operations divided into one patrol and monitoring team for urban wards, three rescue and evacuation teams, and one command team. It is also reported that schools in Laymyatnar Township have been temporarily closed due to the flooding.
