Yangon-Mandalay New Express Train Launched: Halving Travel Time with Japan's ODA, Potential Boost for Investment Climate
On May 1st, a modern air-conditioned DEMU express train commenced operations on Myanmar's key economic corridor between Yangon and Mandalay. The route, which includes sections improved with Japanese Official Development Assistance (ODA) loans, has significantly reduced travel time from approximately 19 hours to 10 hours.
