Cambodia Emphasizes Border Affairs Importance in Expert Workshop
Cambodia has underscored the vital importance of border affairs to national survival, holding an expert workshop in Ratanakiri. The event aimed to deepen understanding of international law, historical context, and territorial integrity strategies among leaders and citizens, countering disinformation.
Cambodia has reiterated its stance that border affairs are of paramount importance, directly impacting the nation's survival. On July 16th, a workshop on "Border Affairs of the Kingdom of Cambodia" was held in Ratanakiri province, presided over by Lam Chea, Minister Attached to the Secretariat of State for Border Affairs. The workshop acknowledged the significant progress made in establishing and marking border lines with neighboring countries under the wise leadership of former Prime Minister Hun Sen, creating a lasting legacy for future generations. The event was attended by 321 participants, including the Chairman of the Provincial Council of Ratanakiri, the Provincial Governor, representatives from the Ministry of Interior and Ministry of National Defense, local authorities, military personnel, youth, and students. Minister Lam Chea stated that the primary objective of this workshop is to ensure that leaders, civil servants, local authorities, armed forces at all levels, and all participants gain a deeper and more comprehensive understanding of international law, border affairs techniques, historical aspects of the territory, and the strategy for defending the territorial integrity of the Kingdom of Cambodia. This initiative aims to counter false information, incitement, or distortion of facts by a small group of extremists and to resolutely protect territorial integrity and national sovereignty. The Minister highlighted that in accordance with the "Pentagon Strategy Phase 1" of the current government under the high leadership of Prime Minister Hun Manet, efforts will continue to maintain and protect historical achievements related to border affairs.
