Ho Chi Minh City Honors and Implements Social Security Policies for Meritorious Individuals

On July 27, the Ho Chi Minh City Fatherland Front Committee organized a joint memorial and social security policy implementation program for meritorious individuals at the War Remnants Museum, in commemoration of War Invalids and Martyrs' Day (July 27). This day, established in 1947, is observed nationwide with related events. Numerous city leaders, including Politburo member and Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Tran Luu Quang, attended the ceremony. Secretary Quang visited Con Dao Special Zone, where he paid respects to the armed forces and participated in memorial activities. He also visited and expressed gratitude to the Vietnamese Mothers (Mẹ Việt Nam Anh hùng), women who lost multiple children for the nation. The Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Fatherland Front Committee also visited and paid homage to these mothers. These activities embody the spirit of 'repaying gratitude' advocated by the Communist Party of Vietnam, demonstrating appreciation and support for those who sacrificed for the nation and their families. Under Vietnam's one-party system, honoring national contributors and providing social security are considered crucial for national cohesion and maintaining the legitimacy of the regime.
