Iloilo City will temporarily restrict the sale and public consumption of alcoholic beverages within a 500-meter radius of the venue for the 2026 Philippine Bar Examinations to ensure a smooth and conducive environment for test-takers.
ILOILO CITY — The city government will temporarily restrict the sale and public consumption of alcoholic beverages within a 500-meter radius of Central Philippine University (CPU) as part of preparations for the 2026 Philippine Bar Examinations. Mayor Raisa S. Treñas signed Executive Order No. 076, which covers Sept. 5-6, Sept. 8-9, and Sept. 12-13, corresponding to the examination dates. The measure aims to prevent disturbances and ensure a conducive environment for examinees during the crucial testing period. The Philippine Bar Examinations are a vital national qualification for aspiring lawyers, drawing a significant number of candidates nationwide, making order maintenance around the examination sites a critical concern. Iloilo City has implemented similar restrictions in previous years, working with the local community to ensure the safe and fair conduct of the examinations. The current restrictions are expected to be implemented with the understanding and cooperation of local residents and businesses, in addition to examination stakeholders. Source: Inquirer NewsInfo
