Two Suspects Arrested in Kompong Speu for Motorcycle Robbery

Police in Kompong Speu province, Cambodia, have arrested two suspects in connection with a motorcycle robbery incident that occurred along National Road 3. The incident took place on August 8, 2026, at approximately 3:45 PM in Prei Sdech village, Val commune, Kong Pisei district, Kompong Speu province. According to authorities, the group of perpetrators, numbering several individuals, was on a black Honda C125 motorcycle (2026 model, no license plate), fleeing from north to south. The suspects attacked the victim's black Honda C125 motorcycle (2026 model, license plate: Phnom Penh 1lZ.2078) with machetes, causing the victim to fall, and then pursued them with machetes. The victims sustained injuries including: a 17-year-old male from Kampong Traleng village, Teuk Chhou district, Kampot province (injured on the right arm, left leg, and back); an 18-year-old male (injured on the back, right elbow, and left leg); and a 22-year-old male from Stung Keo village, Teuk Chhou district, Kampot province (injured on the chin, arms, and both legs). Stolen items include one mobile phone and a shoulder bag containing clothes. Under the coordination of the prosecutor, police investigated and identified the suspects. The arrested individuals are Pha Phat, a 25-year-old male from Tral Yoeng Khouff village, Lumphong commune, Bati district, and Leng Rith alias Ngork, a 19-year-old male from Or Thom village, Phnom Pruc commune, Phnom Pruc district. Both were residing in a rented room in Svay Tbous village, Angk Phel commune, Kong Pisei district, allegedly planning thefts and robberies. Currently, the arrested suspects and seized evidence are being processed by the Kong Pisei District Police Inspectorate and will be forwarded to the Provincial Criminal Office for further legal proceedings.
