Warm Border Journey Program Distributes Aid in Vietnam's Border Region

On August 2, 2026, the Ho Chi Minh City Student Cultural Center, in coordination with the Dak Lak Provincial Border Guard and local Party committees and authorities, organized the 'Warm Border Journey' program 2026 in Tuy An Nam and Tuy An Dong communes, Dak Lak province. This program aims to provide support to disadvantaged students and policy beneficiaries, serving as part of efforts to foster community solidarity. The distributed aid includes food, school supplies, and clothing, with a particular focus on children from families affected by floods or experiencing economic hardship. Under Vietnam's one-party system, social welfare policies are considered a crucial responsibility of the government. Poverty reduction and educational support, especially in border regions and areas with significant ethnic minority populations, are deemed essential for social stability and development. Initiatives like this, involving collaboration between non-governmental organizations and state agencies, contribute to achieving these policy objectives. Dak Lak province borders Cambodia, where economic development and the support of border residents' livelihoods are key challenges alongside security maintenance.
