Vietnam is gearing up for its summer tourism season with a diverse array of events across the country, aiming to attract both domestic and international visitors and highlight the nation's rich natural beauty, culture, and culinary offerings. The central city of Da Nang is hosting its annual "Enjoy Da Nang Festival" from June 19 to 23. This event features a wide range of cultural, sports, tourism, entertainment, and culinary activities designed to showcase the city's summer charm to residents and visitors alike. Da Nang's appeal has been further amplified by its recent ranking as the second most attractive summer destination in Asia by Lonely Planet. In the southern province of Phu Quoc, significant investments are being made in infrastructure and hospitality, positioning the island as a key destination, especially in preparation for APEC 2027. Phu Quoc has also been recognized internationally, being named one of the top two islands in Asia-Pacific for 2026 by Travel + Leisure, underscoring its global allure. Furthermore, Vietnam is leveraging its unique natural landscapes and cultural heritage as tourism assets. In the northern province of Ninh Binh, digital technology is being employed to preserve traditional pagodas and promote rural tourism. Bach Ma National Park in the central province of Quang Tri is enhancing conservation efforts while developing sustainable tourism products based on its rich biodiversity. According to the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism, Con Son, the largest island in the Con Dao archipelago off the southeastern coast, is renowned for its dramatic granite cliffs, pristine beaches, and clear waters. In the northern province of Cao Bang, the first five months of 2026 saw nearly 1.3 million visitors, generating 1.43 trillion VND (54.3 million USD) in tourism revenue. These tourism promotion initiatives are part of Vietnam's strategy to establish itself as a major tourism hub in the region and position tourism as a key pillar of its economic growth. The country's diverse appeal, offering authentic experiences through its natural landscapes, historical sites, cultural heritage, and interactions with local communities, is making it an increasingly attractive destination for international travelers.
