Pertamina Limits Fuel Purchase to 3 Liters at Makassar Modular Gas Stations

State-owned energy company PT Pertamina Patra Niaga is strengthening its service and fuel distribution by establishing three modular gas stations (SPBU) in the Center Point of Indonesia (CPI) area, near the 99 Domes Mosque in Makassar. These modular stations are specifically limiting Pertalite purchases for two-wheeled vehicles to a maximum of 3 liters. According to Pjs. Area Manager Communication, Relation, & CSR of Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Sulawesi, Okky Aditya Wibowo, a system based on the license plate number's odd or even digits will be implemented for Pertalite purchases for general two-wheeled vehicles. However, this odd-even system will not apply to online motorcycle taxi (OJOL) vehicles. Okky stated that the deployment of these modular stations is a collaboration with the South Sulawesi Provincial Government to increase service points and help alleviate congestion at existing gas stations. In addition to modular stations, Pertamina Patra Niaga is enhancing services through SPBU reconfiguration, adding nozzles and operators, and operating 25 SPBUs 24 hours a day. Daily fuel distribution is also being maintained to ensure supply availability and smooth service delivery. He noted that with these measures, the queuing situation at several SPBUs in Makassar has shown significant improvement. "We see the queuing situation at several SPBUs in Makassar today is becoming more manageable. We continue to strengthen services by adding refueling points, operating 24-hour SPBUs, increasing nozzles and operators, and ensuring fuel distribution continues. We also appreciate the support from the South Sulawesi Provincial Government and the community for cooperating with the on-site arrangements," Okky said in a written statement on Monday (14/9/2026). Meanwhile, PT Pertamina (Persero) President Director Simon Aloysius Mantiri personally visited Makassar to ensure that various handling measures and service enhancements were being implemented effectively on the ground. His presence was part of strengthening oversight and ensuring that needs could be promptly addressed with regional stakeholders. The South Sulawesi Provincial Government, through its ESDM Agency, continues to support field handling efforts, including providing locations and supporting facilities for additional service points. Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Sulawesi will continue to monitor SPBU conditions and evaluate services and fuel distribution based on developments.
