Poipet Governor Urges Teachers to Enhance Education Quality and Address Student Dropouts

Poipet Province, Cambodia – On the morning of September 21, 2026, HE Khoy Rida, Governor of Poipet Province, presided over a meeting with teachers and staff at Bakan High School in Bakan district. The governor strongly urged the school management and teachers to enhance the quality of education and thoroughly investigate the root causes of student dropouts to find timely solutions. Governor Rida shared his personal experience as a former teacher, emphasizing his deep understanding and high priority for the education sector and the honor and livelihood of all teachers. He stated that during his nearly four-year tenure as provincial governor, he has strived to develop Poipet province positively, gaining strong public support for his work in organizing public order, environmental sanitation, and especially addressing waste management issues in urban areas and communities. Furthermore, the governor instructed the school management and teachers to maintain and enhance their spirit of solidarity and cooperation within the educational institution to create a more inclusive and effective working and teaching environment. He encouraged them to transfer knowledge, skills, and experiences to students to the best of their abilities, thereby building high-quality human resources for the province and the nation. Regarding student dropouts, the governor stressed the need for in-depth investigation into family circumstances, living conditions, or other factors contributing to their departure, and to find solutions to help them return to their studies. He also urged them to continue educating students on hygiene, environmental awareness, and waste management, both within the school and the community, and to ensure the cleanliness and good maintenance of toilets to safeguard the health of teachers and students.
