Drones Deployed to Combat Sugarcane Pest Outbreak in Negros, Panay

The Sugar Regulatory Administration (SRA) in the Philippines has deployed drones and manual spraying of insecticides to combat a widespread outbreak of the destructive red-striped soft scale insect (RSSI) affecting sugarcane fields in Negros and Panay islands. The pest has already infested nearly 1,800 hectares, impacting hundreds of farmers.
