Shops around Aung San Stadium instructed to vacate within one month

Shop owners around Aung San Stadium have been notified in advance to vacate within one month, said Deputy Minister U Nyi Nyi of the Ministry of Sports. This was stated by Deputy Minister U Nyi Nyi, who is also the chairman of the auction committee, at a meeting held on July 20 at the Pyat-tah-mah Hall in Thuwunna, National Sports Stadium (1), in Thanggyun Township, Yangon Region, for the auction of old buildings within Aung San Stadium. It is said that the sealed tender applications submitted by companies competing to carry out the work, lot by lot, will be systematically opened and examined in accordance with the rules and regulations. Deputy Minister U Nyi Nyi instructed that shops that have exceeded the specified period and remain to be vacated will be owned by the successful bidders for each lot, and therefore, after winning the tender, they should carry out their work in an orderly manner by clearly demarcating their respective boundaries. Subsequently, officials from the inspection committee announced the confirmed successful bidders for each lot. Following that, Director General U Nyan Zaw Oo of the Department of Sports and Physical Education said that if there are any office-related requirements for the successful companies to start their work and for the demolition of buildings, their ministry will provide assistance. After that, Deputy Minister U Nyi Nyi stated that they should pay special attention to security when starting the work and should cooperate by obtaining the assistance of the regional government organization. It is known that the "Aung San Stadium Upgrade and Construction Project Committee" has been formed to rebuild Aung San Stadium in Mingalar Taung Nyunt Township, Yangon City, into a stadium that can accommodate approximately 25,000 spectators.
