3 people rob 40 million kyats by faking motorcycle breakdown on Lashio Airport Road

Yesterday, July 13, around 2 PM, a person who had withdrawn their pension from the bank and was returning home by car, stopped to help a woman whose motorcycle had broken down on the roadside as they reached the airport road past the communication corps junction. At that moment, three unidentified individuals emerged from the bushes by the roadside, threatened the person by holding a knife to their neck, and stole the bag of pension money withdrawn from the bank inside the car before fleeing. "The woman propped up the motorcycle with a stand, making it look like it was broken down. I stopped the car to check, and when I got out, I was threatened with a knife and robbed," said a friend of the victim. He added that the car was not stolen because the car keys were thrown away during the robbery, and the three robbers were in their early 30s. He also said that the robbers and the woman who stopped the car then fled on motorcycles. The police station is investigating this robbery. Robberies of cars and motorcycles are occurring in Lashio, and last month, a car was stolen after a car broker was murdered after arranging to buy a car.
