Indonesia Guarantees Higher Education for NTT Quake-Affected Students

The Indonesian Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology has announced that the government will guarantee higher education for students whose continuity of higher education has been disrupted by the earthquake in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). This measure aims to ensure that students can continue their studies without losing educational opportunities. To address the economic difficulties and academic transfer challenges faced by affected students, the ministry plans to implement specific support measures, including tuition fee assistance, scholarships, and facilitation of transfer processes to other universities if necessary. This will create an environment where students whose learning environments have been damaged by the earthquake can focus on their studies with peace of mind. NTT province has experienced several earthquakes in the past, with a major one in April 2021 causing extensive damage. This announcement is part of the government's ongoing commitment to guaranteeing educational opportunities in regions affected by natural disasters. An education official stated, "Protecting the future of our students is our top priority. Ensuring access to education under any circumstances is the government's responsibility," emphasizing the importance of the support.
