Global travel company G Adventures has pledged to promote Cambodia internationally as the Kingdom hosts its 2026 GX Summit, with founder Bruce Poon Tip vowing closer cooperation with travel agencies, media and content creators to showcase the country’s tourism potential. Poon Tip made the commitment during a meeting with Prime Minister Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet at the Peace Palace on Wednesday, as the summit brings around 700 delegates to Phnom Penh and Siem Reap from Sept 23 to 28. He thanked the government for facilitating the event, saying it provides a platform to highlight Cambodia’s attractions to a global audience. The G Adventures founder praised Cambodia’s tourism vision, particularly its emphasis on community‑based tourism, which he said aligns with the company’s mission of supporting local livelihoods and reducing poverty. He described Cambodia’s cultural heritage and natural assets as strong foundations for attracting visitors, reaffirming his company’s commitment to promoting the Kingdom as a safe and welcoming destination. Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet welcomed the pledge, stressing that the presence of international delegates would help demonstrate Cambodia’s tourism potential worldwide. He highlighted government policy prioritizing ecotourism and community‑based tourism, backed by infrastructure development, capacity‑building for local communities and greater private‑sector participation. The Prime Minister also pointed to efforts to diversify tourism products, including new travel packages linking Phnom Penh, Siem Reap and surrounding areas, alongside modernization of visa systems and streamlined immigration procedures to make travel more convenient. Officials said the GX Summit is expected to raise Cambodia’s profile in global tourism markets while creating opportunities for local communities. Hun Manet encouraged G Adventures to continue working closely with the Ministry of Tourism, the Cambodia Tourism Board and other institutions to strengthen resilience and sustainability in the sector.
