Yangon, May 14 Ko Nay Thu Aung, a Myanmar seafarer serving on the vessel 'MCC Yangon' while it was navigating through Malaysian waters, has been missing for 10 days after losing contact on the ship. Family members told the Yangon Khit Thit Media that the shipping company has not provided any specific information and has only returned Ko Nay Thu Aung's personal belongings to the family. Ko Nay Thu Aung boarded the ship from Thilawa Port on July 17, 2025, through Golden Eagle Co., Ltd., and was serving as an AB (Able Seaman) on the MCC Yangon. He was last in contact with his family online at 10:00 PM on May 5, 2026, while the ship was in Malaysian waters. Since that time, he has lost contact and gone missing. Although 10 days have passed since he went missing on May 5 until today, May 14, the shipping company's headquarters has not provided any official notification or specific explanation to the family. Currently, only his passport, clothing, wallet, and documents left on the ship have been returned to the family, and no explanation regarding the cause of his disappearance has been provided.
