Dawei Customs Deputy Head arrested by Column (33)

The Ministry of Defence (MOD) of the National Unity Government (NUG), Column (33) in Tanintharyi Region, announced that Deputy Head of Customs, Phyo San, from the Dawei Township Customs Department, was arrested. It is known that PDF Column (33) under the command of Battalion (8003) conducted a surprise raid and arrested him near Maungmaukun Beach in Langloun Township, Dawei District, on July 20, based on information provided by an insider within the Customs Department. "All walls have ears. You cannot escape from the operational area of Column (33)," wrote Ye Bo Saw Dar, the Column Commander of PDF Column (33), on his social media. The arrested Deputy Head of Customs confessed to having carried out inspections of the Dawei deep seaport, natural gas extraction status, and equipment, and the announcement stated that further investigations are being conducted.
