Preah Sihanouk Provincial Health Department Conducts Health Education on Dengue Fever and Zika Virus Prevention
The Preah Sihanouk Provincial Health Department, in collaboration with the Ou Chru Health Center and Kampong Som City authorities, conducted a health education forum for 276 residents in Boeung Ta Prohm village, Kampong Som city. The session focused on preventing and controlling Dengue fever and Zika virus, emphasizing mosquito breeding source elimination and timely medical attention.
Preah Sihanouk, Cambodia – July 24, 2026 The Preah Sihanouk Provincial Health Department, in collaboration with a working group from the Ou Chru Health Center and the Kampong Som City authorities, organized a forum for health promotion and consultation on July 23, 2026, under the Kampong Som City Council. The event, held in Boeung Ta Prohm village (Kohr Krus), Boeung Ta Prohm commune, Kampong Som city, Preah Sihanouk province, was attended by a total of 276 residents, including 49 women. The main topics of the health education were the prevention and control of Dengue fever and Zika virus. Residents were instructed on measures to eliminate mosquito breeding sources, clean the environment around their homes, sleep under mosquito nets, and seek timely medical treatment at local public health centers when experiencing suspected symptoms, to avoid loss of life. Currently, Dengue fever and Zika virus are occurring in some areas, requiring timely understanding and participation from everyone to prevent these diseases.
