Due to the strengthening of the monsoon winds in the Bay of Bengal and the potential formation of a low-pressure area off the coasts of West Bengal, India, and Bangladesh, heavy rains are likely in most regions and states, the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology announced at 8 AM on July 15. From the morning of July 15 to July 21, Nay Pyi Taw, Yangon Region, Mandalay Region, Bago Region, Upper Sagaing Region, Ayeyarwady Region, Tanintharyi Region, Kachin State, Kayin State, Chin State, Mon State, Rakhine State, and Shan State are expected to experience scattered to widespread thunderstorms, with localized heavy rains in some areas. Therefore, due to the possibility of natural disasters such as strong winds, sudden floods, and landslides accompanying heavy rainfall, residents living near high ground are advised to be aware of the risk of landslides, and those living near small rivers and streams are advised to be aware of the risk of floods and inundation. Furthermore, an announcement has been issued to provide advance notice for domestic flights, and for nearshore and offshore fishing vessels and ships along the Myanmar coast and in offshore waters.
