Embassy informs Myanmar nationals in Japan to be aware of earthquakes

The Myanmar Embassy in Tokyo issued a notice on July 29, urging Myanmar nationals in the vicinity to be cautious as the magnitude 7.1 earthquake that struck Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan, has resulted in 13 deaths and the possibility of aftershocks. According to news reports on the morning of July 29, the earthquake caused buildings to collapse and be damaged, as well as explosions and fires. Thirteen people have died, and there are also injured individuals. Cracks have appeared on major roads, including expressways, leading to the suspension of train and flight services. Furthermore, it is reported that approximately 48,300 households in Kumamoto Prefecture are experiencing power outages. Therefore, a notice has been issued urging Myanmar nationals residing in Kumamoto Prefecture and surrounding areas in Japan to be vigilant due to the possibility of aftershocks, to closely monitor information released by radio, television, the internet, local authorities, and the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA), to evacuate to safe locations, and to promptly follow the instructions of the relevant authorities.
