Coordination to be provided for the development of the Ta'ang-Palaung region

Coordination will be provided for the education, healthcare, and regional development of the people in the Ta'ang-Palaung region, stated Chairman of the National Reconciliation and Peacebuilding Committee, Lt. Gen. Hla Hpyay. Lt. Gen. Hla Hpyay said this during a meeting held between the National Reconciliation and Peacebuilding Committee and the PSLF/TNLA at the meeting hall of Shwe San Eain Hotel in Nay Pyi Taw on the morning of July 19. During the meeting, Chairman of the Coordination Committee, Lt. Gen. Hla Hpyay, stated that this meeting is the first in Nay Pyi Taw and that coordination will be provided for the education, healthcare, and regional development of the people in the Ta'ang-Palaung region. He said that now that an elected government has emerged, efforts to amend the 2008 constitution can be undertaken, and expressed a desire for open discussions on what can be coordinated regarding regional stability, peace, and development. Following this, Ta Htut Jar, Vice-Chairman (1) of the PSLF/TNLA, expressed gratitude for the invitation to discuss peace and stated that he was greatly encouraged by the invitation to discuss peace for the stability, peace, and development of the country, which was extended freely and without prior restrictions. He also stated that fighting has now ceased, and peace has begun to dawn for the people, and expressed belief that positive results will emerge from this discussion. Subsequently, attendees of the meeting discussed cooperation on the State President and the Coordination Committee's 100-day peace efforts program, adherence to the Hai Geng agreement, implementation of the agreed-upon ceasefire agreement, improving the livelihoods of the people in their respective regions, finding political solutions to political problems with a focus on national peace, continued cooperation in peace processes, and exchanged views on education, healthcare, regional development, and transportation. Following this, coordination was made to record the discussions of both sides, and the record was signed and approved. The meeting was attended by Chairman of the Coordination Committee, Lt. Gen. Hla Hpyay, Secretary Lt. Gen. Min Naing, members of the Coordination Committee, Vice-Chairman (1) of the PSLF/TNLA, Ta Htut Jar, and responsible officials.
