Specifically, the authorities examined the installation points for additional drainage systems at the Depo Market intersection along Road 215, located in the Vat Phnom pagoda area of 7 Makara district. Ek Khun Doeun, Deputy Governor of Phnom Penh, stated that the inspection's objective is to plan the restoration and improvement of old drainage systems to ensure their proper functioning, thereby alleviating water buildup and preventing flooding during the rainy season. He highlighted the area along Road 215 near the Depo Market intersection, bordering the Toul Kok district, which frequently floods after rainfall. To reduce this flooding, the Phnom Penh administration has directed experts to install a drainage system across Road 215 (Nehru Boulevard) to expedite water flow, thereby facilitating the daily lives and travel of residents in the area. Regarding the drainage system restoration work, a team of 12 vehicles and 5 working groups are currently engaged in simultaneous operations. The Phnom Penh authorities have completed work in Don Penh and Chamkarmon districts and are continuing their efforts in three more districts: Boeung Keng Kang, 7 Makara, and finally Toul Kok.
